Huawei 55-inch and 65-inch TVs pass through certification, launch imminent

02 June 2019 3

Back in January, we heard that the top technology manufacturer from China is working upon making a 55-inch TV under its sub-brand Honor. Now in the latest development in this regard, it seems that the awaited products have passed through certification with model numbers OSCA-550 / OSCA-550A which represent a 55-inch and 65-inch display which got certified by China’s National Quality Certification center.

Both of these TV’s have the OLED panels from Hefei BOE Video Technology company which is China’s leading company in the LCD manufacturing business. The same company also provides LCDs for Huawei Mate 20 Pro and P30 Pro as well.

Previously surfaced reports also suggested that Huawei might be bringing forward 5G 8K TVs soon and it’s yet remained to be seen whether the newly certified TV models would offer 5G and 8K technology. Huawei is quite determined to sell 10 million units of TVs each year and the unique selling point could be the social media integration, games, and dominantly dual camera support.

Interestingly, the 5G support would empower the TV units to allow video streaming without having to have a cable connection for internet or may that be a Wi-Fi. Are you excited to see the upcoming Huawei TVs? Let us know in the comment section below.
