Xiaomi promises fewer intrusive ads on MIUI

07 June 2019 0

Xiaomi has become famously known for its MIUI operating system which is based on Android. While its smartphones are reasonably priced, the smartphones run on MIUI. This was never a bad thing, however, recently, Xiaomi started promoting ads on its operating system. This means users running on MIUI had annoying pop-up ads even without doing anything. The company promised to reduce the number of ads and even promised to optimize ads according to the needs and wants of users.

It seems like the company is delivering on this promise as the company has confirmed that it will be trimming ads in the upcoming MIUI version. The good news comes from a post made by the company on Weibo. For starters, a lot of places were ads were commonly shown have now been discarded. This leads to a more clutter-free experience. To ensure the best user experience, Xiaomi is working towards reducing the number of ads which show up on its devices. This has been the effort of thousands of users who complained of vulgar ads showing up on the screen.

By the looks of it, Xiaomi will probably be coming up with a system to regulate such ads and remove profane and indecent ones. Do you think Xiaomi’s reason behind including ads is just an attempt at a cash grab? Let us know what you think about this in the comments section below!
