Xiaomi has long been known for its MIUI software; a proprietary software based on Android. Unfortunately, of late, the company started promoting ads on MIUI but has thankfully promised to minimize it and make it more optimized to user needs. However, more bad news heralds in for Xiaomi users. The company has now decided to end all beta ROMs for budget devices and release these beta ROMs only for its new smartphones.
The company has announced that from the 5th of July onwards, it will only be releasing beta ROMs for smartphones which have not exceeded one year of age. The good thing about beta ROMs is that they bring with them new untested features which will only be released in the next official launch. In simple terms, these Xiaomi smartphones which have exceeded a time period of one year will be removed from the beta testing. However, this will have no effect on stable MIUI releases.
Xiaomi has also decided to suspend MIUI betas for all entry-level devices. However, the company has not stated which devices would come within the periphery of this category. To an extent, one might have anticipated such a decision given the fact that the company has called off all Android Pie updates for its 2018 entry-level smartphones.
