Oppo's Find Y could feature the very latest in-display camera tech

10 July 2019 0

Oppo has reportedly filed a trademark for a new series which will be known by the name Find Y. Oppo filed this name with WIPO back in May 2019 but there are no details attached that could tell us more about this series.

But supposedly being the successor to the Find X, it’s believed that this device would go a step further and will bring a new solution for a truly bezel-less display. Having said that, this could fairly be the company’s latest in-display camera tech. For comparison, its predecessor, Find X introduced one of the ways of hiding the notch and sustaining the front cameras. It came with a motorized system for the same and now the Find Y is expected to bring the much-anticipated in-display camera tech.

As we mentioned earlier, there are no details available on the device. But we do hope to hear about the same soon.

While demonstrating the new solution to truly bezel-less display at MWC Shanghai, Oppo also put out some details like how this tech works or what are the algorithms that help in accentuating the quality of the photos. The in-display camera will take selfies behind the display, which means it has the display over it which could block the intake of light. So, Oppo has also worked in this area to somewhat rectify the issue but given a word of caution that the quality of pictures isn’t going to be great since it’s the first attempt like this and definitely more research is required.

Well, Oppo has just filed the trademark and we need some more insights to know more about Find Y.
