Samsung is reportedly also making use of its 64MP ISOCELL sensor in-house on a smartphone from Galaxy A-series. There isn’t enough substantiality available about the name of the device but going by the Geekbench listing and a tip from an ever-reliable tipster, this could be an enhanced version of the Galaxy A70.
A Geekbench listing of a new Samsung phone that has a model number of SM-A707F has appeared and this appears to be an upgrade over the Galaxy A70 that has the model number SM-A705. No, the benchmark listing hasn’t revealed the inclusion of the 64MP sensor, it’s rather a tip from Ice Universe that concludes an upcoming phone from Galaxy A-series will embrace the new in-house 64MP sensor.
The Geekbench listing, meanwhile, reveals the device is running Android 9 Pie OS out-of-the-box, has 6GB RAM and is powered by Snapdragon 675 processor. For a recommendation, the Galaxy A70 also came with the Snapdragon 675 processor. For reference, this spotted version is addressed as the Galaxy A70s, but there’s no solid proof to name it so right now.
By the way, this month, Redmi will also release a 64MP camera phone, Samsung also restarted plans to launch 64MP A series phones in September-October.— Ice universe (@UniverseIce) August 2, 2019
Well, this is just a guess that the device that spotted at Geekbench could be the same device the leaker is referring to. Galaxy A70 offers a 32MP main camera out of its triple rear cameras module, it’s possible that its upgrade is coming with an even bigger 64MP sensor or it could just bring little improvements here and there. Well, we certainly require more information to come to a conclusion and believe the fact that the Galaxy A70s features the newest 64MP sensor.
Why the Galaxy A70 successor will feature the 64MP camera sensor?
Well, we have one more reason, in fact, the better one to believe why it could be the Galaxy A70s to feature the 64MP sensor. Samsung during its Q2 2019 results mentioned that the mid-tier Galaxy A70 has helped the company in making some sales profit; "smartphone shipments increased QoQ led by strong sales of the new Galaxy A Series, including the Galaxy A50 and A70." So, it makes sense for Samsung to come up with an upgraded model of the Galaxy A70 with a better option of photography for the users. We would have bet on Galaxy A71 but it's rumored to be coming with the latest Exynos 9630 processor.
Coming back to what is suggested, the tipster adds that the South Korean company is aiming to launch the phone in September or October. Let’s wait for more information to come and disclose everything.
