HMD Global appears to be having a new feature phone to launch and referring to the latest certification this could be the Nokia 2720 with 4G support. The exact model number of the device hasn’t been spotted on the certification but a variant of it seems to be hinting at the possibility.
A report by NokiaPowerUser mentions that the Nokia TA-1170 which recently got certified by China’s communications may be the rumored Nokia 2720 (2019) with 4G connectivity. This is the same device that previously also received certification in Thailand. The same certification revealed that the device in question is a feature phone and not a smartphone.
No other details on the Nokia 2720 (2019) are available but it’s expected to launch at IFA 2019 event which is happening next month in Berlin. HMD Global has already confirmed that it’s attending the event and will bring something on September 5.
Specifications of the latest Nokia 2720 with 4G are unknown but take a quick recap of the specs of the old Nokia 2720 and suppose what upgrades the company could bring. The original Nokia 2720 Fold came with a 1.8-inch 120x160 color display. It also had a second 1.36-inch 128x160 monochrome display on the outside when closed shut. It had 1.3MP camera, Bluetooth 2.0, a 2.5mm audio jack, FM radio, and an 860mAH battery.
