Ever since the newest and powerful Snapdragon 855 Plus processor has gone official, many OEMs have shown their interest in launching smartphones with this SoC. Realme is one of those companies which showed it interest quite early, soon after the launch of the processor and fast forward to now, we may have spotted the name of the device as well.
First, Realme China’s Product Director Wang Wei Derek made a post on Weibo using the Realme X2 Pro phone. In his post, he wrote Snapdragon 855 Plus powered phone is coming and the handset codename is Super Warrior. However, the post got later deleted. But in another post, he asked users to guess the price of their first Snapdragon 855 Plus-powered phone. In the comments, he hinted that the phone may cost 4,000 Yuan (~$561).
Later, Realme CMO Xu Qi’s post on Weibo also revealed that the mysterious device with the Snapdragon 855 Plus processor is indeed going to be the Realme X2Pro. His post was the same as the company’s Product Director and he made this post using the Realme X2Pro device as well.
Last week, a device from Realme with model number RMX1931 appeared on the Bluetooth SIG database and revealed some of the key specifications. The listing suggested the device is powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core processor. This indicated that it could be the Snapdragon 855 SoC and all these posts made by the company’s executives reveal that this suspected device could be the Realme X2Pro.
Considering the possibility of it being the Realme X2 Pro, we move on with the specifications revealed by the Bluetooth SIG. According to the listing, the device has a 6.55-inch full HD display and it supports Bluetooth 5.0 with dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity.
It’s currently unknown when the Realme X2Pro will launch and at what price, but a tipster from China claimed that the suspected Realme X2Pro could go on sale in mid-October. It’s speculated to go official in India as well since it had recently received approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
