Huawei’s 5nm-based SoCs are reportedly under development and they will arrive in the second half of next year. The report also sheds light on the processor name which is going to be the Kirin 1000 and it will first appear in the Mate 40 series.
It’s expected the Kirin 1000 will feature the Cortex-A77 cores Arm announced earlier this year. This brings a 20% improvement in performance. These are the only key details which have surfaced so far. But, this is just the start and we will get to know more about it soon.
Well, other manufacturers in the industry are also making use of 5nm fabrication to develop their SoCs. Qualcomm, Samsung, and Apple, all have been developing their SoCs. The smaller nodes are made of smaller transistors which ensure more power and thus an efficient processor is crafted.
The tech industry is growing and welcoming new technologies like 5G, IoT, and AI and these fields demand systems to have great power and strength within. The tech world is all set to take its next stride, with the majority of the work has already been started. Manufacturers have started launching their 5G phones and capable smart products to connect your home intelligently. We are yet to see what new possibilities the 5nm chipsets will bring.
