The speculations on Apple working on a new 16-inch MacBook Pro have been making rounds on the internet. There are several reports on its expected design and launch as well but there hasn’t been any substantiality in any of them. But looks like we now have something, at least, to put our faith in.
French publication MacGeneration has discovered something inside the macOS Catalina 10.15.1 beta 2 that appears to be the anticipated 16-inch MacBook Pro. The icon available inside seems like a visual reference to the upcoming MacBook device and one can see some changes in the design.
The icon reveals the MacBook model has slimmer bezels and reduced screen-to-body ratio compared to its 15-inch model, though the chassis is the same. The reduced screen-to-body ratio allows Apple to fit a larger display in the same form factor.
What has appeared now isn’t a high-quality resolution press render, but it is, at least, showing what major changes in terms of design are coming. Also, its direct and visible existence inside the macOS Catalina 10.15.1 puts credence to earlier reports we have heard. So, we can’t question the authenticity of the image, but this glimpse makes us curious to know more about it.
Also, Macg spots something in the image which isn’t similar to the old model. This is a separation between the Touch Bar and a button on the left end. So, it’s fair to imagine that the change isn’t just limited to the size and bezels as Apple appears to be bringing some tiny changes here and there. However, currently, these changes are not as clear as the narrow bezels. So, let’s wait for more information to join in that could reveal more about this 16-inch MacBook Pro model.
It was reported that Apple could bring its new MacBook Pro in September this year but this didn’t happen and eventually, we started believing that the upgrade will only come in 2020. However, the new spotting ignites the spark again and we bet our hopes on the remaining year. Also, Apple typically brings its new MacBooks in October and there are still a few days left for this month to finish. So, we may see the suspected MacBook Pro with a 16-inch display launching this month. But this is just a guess, stay tuned for more insights.
