Speculations on the upcoming iPhone models are sputtering high as we are approaching the next year. We don’t have any substantial proof of their existence yet but we are following what the reports have to say. Now following one more report from Digitimes, we tell you that iPhone 2020 models could feature ProMotion displays that would support 120Hz. This is a feature that Apple first introduced back in 2017 with 10.5-inch iPad Pro and 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
But it was introduced on LCD panels and with iPhone 2020, Apple will amp up its game by featuring them on OLED panels for a better experience. The higher refresh rate would mean greater responsiveness and smoother motion content. Also, the 120Hz will promise fluid scrolling when you’re going through your long News Feed and more on social media. Although Apple iPhones offer an optimized environment already, this feature will put a great effect on gaming and could prove to be a great asset overall.
Higher refresh rate display isn’t a new thing in the Android ecosystem, there are so many phones available, starting with 90Hz and the Asus ROG Phone is the first to feature 120Hz.
Apple touts that ProMotion improves display quality and reduces power consumption as it automatically “adjusts the display refresh rate to match the movement of the content.”
We look forward to hearing more about this feature in the coming days. Stay tuned.
