Galaxy S11 may rather be called Galaxy S20 for a new beginning | UPD: New theory

Update: December 31, 2019

While we are gathering the rumors and leaks on Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S-series, the speculations on the change of the naming convention are going on too. Previously, Ice Universe shared with everyone the possibility of a name change. And, now we are receiving one more theory that also doubts that it is unlikely Samsung would use the most-obvious iterative name for its next Galaxy S-series.

@HarmlessKarl, the founder of case manufacturer Schnail, posted a screenshot of what appears to be a communication of some sort about the next Samsung flagship’s name. It suggests that Samsung may not address its next Galaxy S-series as Galaxy S11, S11e or S11 Plus. It would rather follow the S20 chain and also the S20e won't be a device in the series as it would rather be, S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra.

Remember, there is nothing else to back this theory for now. But having an existing theory on the same indicates a higher possibility. Also, accessory manufacturers get early insights since they have to prepare the products for the upcoming phones. So, it is possible that what we are hearing is actually true. But still, take it with a pinch of salt and let us know what do you think about these new names?

Here comes another rumor on the Galaxy S11 but it is not about a newly found feature or specification, it is rather about the naming convention that Samsung may change with the introduction of its upcoming Galaxy S-series.

According to a very reliable tipster Ice Universe, Samsung may break the numerical sequence it has been following for the Galaxy S-series and launch the Galaxy S20 instead. The tipster has even got a reason to make us believe in it. The next year is 2020, so “20” matches it and the new numerical will mark as a new beginning.

If true, this would be a big jump for Samsung for its so popular Galaxy S-series. It remains to be known if Samsung is going to call the next S-series by S21 in 2021 or will it follow Huawei’s style and launch the Galaxy S30 instead.

Well, whatever it comes out to be, it’s great to notice manufacturers taking care of such things after they complete launching phones up to their ten series.

The tip includes no further information but if you’re a Samsung follower and have been keeping a tab on its upcoming products then you must know what the Galaxy S11 now Galaxy S20 is bringing with itself. The phone is rumored to include a Penta-lens camera where the primary would be a 108MP lens, followed by a 48MP 5x telephoto lens. It could also feature a 120Hz display and a 5,000mAH battery.

The Galaxy S20 is tipped to be launched on February 18 and Samsung may launch Snapdragon 865-powered variant to more regions, unlike before.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 isn't still available. To be notified when it becomse available click here.
