Xiaomi reportedly has more 108MP camera phones in the plan to launch somewhere this year. We have already seen the Mi Note 10 and the Mi Mix Alpha concept phone with the said MP camera, but there are reportedly two more phones to add to this flagship lineup. The folks over at XDA-Developers have managed to get their hands on the build.prop files for the two Xiaomi devices. These two phones hold the codenames “Umi” and “Cmi,” and according to the outlet, they will also support the 108MP camera.
Well, there is evidence to believe in this theory and for this, you’d need to have a quick brief on what was spotted last year. The tech site dug through an update to the MIUI Gallery app and discovered the 108MP photo support, including four code-names for upcoming devices. These code-names also include Umi and Cmi as well apart from Tucana and Draco which belong to Mi Note 10 and Mi Mix Alpha.
And now, Umi and Cmi have been identified as the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. The tech outlet claims that the build.prop files confirm that “Umi” is the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 10 while “Cmi” is the Mi 10 Pro. Referring to what was discovered earlier during the MIUI Gallery app, the Mi 10 and the Mi 10 Pro will include a 108M primary sensor. Additionally, the build.prop files also confirm that both the upcoming devices are based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor and are running MIUI 11 based on Android 10.
Note that Xiaomi has already confirmed that Mi 10 is scheduled to launch in Q1 2020 and it will be accompanied by the Mi 10 Pro, which will have 66W fast charging.
XDA-Developers now claimed to have also seen evidence of another Snapdragon 865-powered Xiaomi device, and it’s possible that it may not feature a 108MP camera. The device in question holds the code-name “Imi” and it has been obtained in build.prop file. It is based on the Snapdragon 865 processor and it is stated to be a “Redmi” model.
While the code doesn’t specifically state the name of the device, it is the Geekbench listing that confirms it. This is because the motherboard lists the name “Imi.” According to the outlet, they didn’t discover this codename in the list of Xiaomi phones that will have 108MP cameras. According to the site’s senior member, the MIUI Gallery app mentions “Imi” in the list of devices that support 64MP cameras. This means it’s possible that the Redmi K30 Pro won’t have a 108MP camera. The Redmi K30 Pro, therefore, is expected to be a cheaper variant of the Xiaomi Mi 10.
