OnePlus is known for announcing a launch date for upcoming products and then revealing some of the key features in a build-up to the launch. It revealed that new and budget-focused OnePlus TV series will be unveiled on July 2nd and since then, it has been teasing what to expect. The latest teaser post is about the display quality and features of the TVs.
The launch event will see OnePlus unveil two new smart TV series where one will be mid-range and another will be entry-level. It revealed that both these series will feature an impressive 93% DCI-P3 color gamut support. OnePlus says that it will allow the TVs to offer "best color experience" and full effect of HDR videos.
Such a higher DCI-P3 coverage is the reason OnePlus is marketing the display as the OnePlus Cinematic Display. It is to show that the display panel is capable of offering a true cinematic experience. The mid-range series will further have Gamma Engine, a technology meant to offer various visual enhancements. Some of these are super-resolution, dynamic contrast, MEMC, color space mapping, anti-aliasing, and noise reduction.
It will help users enjoy even low-resolution content in better and improved quality. Lastly, the TVs will come with Dolby Vision support just like the previously released OnePlus Q1 series of premium TVs. This is what OnePlus has revealed about the upcoming series but we should expect to know more details in the coming days.
