As teased last week, Realme has officially introduced the world's first SLED smart TV in India. This is a new display technology released by Realme in collaboration with John Rooymans, Chief Scientist of SPD Technology (Special Power Distribution). This tech is said to be helpful in reducing Blue light emission as well as a wide color gamut support.
The Realme SLED TV sports a 55-inch display panel with 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) resolution and HDR support. The TV has really slim bezels with a thickness of just 9.4 mm and a high screen-to-body ratio of 94.6%. In terms of display tech, SLED makes use of RGB backlighting as compared to the Blue backlighting used by traditional LED display panels. As mentioned in the beginning, this will result in low emission of Blue light and will eventually be more comforting for eyes.
The smart TV is powered by a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek processor with Chroma Boost support. The latter is a technology that will enhance the visual quality of content. There are further seven dedicated video modes Standard, Sport, Game, Vivid, Energy Saving, User, and Movie. These will be helpful in a scenario where you would not want to tweak each display setting for optimal results.
It will come loaded with 16GB of onboard storage for installing apps and games. There are three HDMI ports, two USB ports, one Ethernet port, Bluetooth 5.0, and a headphone jack as connectivity options. For audio lovers, Realme has offered 24W quad stereo speakers. The bunded remote control comes with dedicated physical keys for Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Prime Video.
The 55-inch Realme SLED TV has been priced at INR 42,999 but will cost INR 39,999 as part of an introductory price offer. This discounted price will be applicable only for the first sale scheduled for October 16th.
Alongside the smart TV, Realme has also debuted a 100W soundbar for audio enthusiasts. It comprises of dual full-range 2.25-inch 15W speakers and dual 15W tweeters. It further has a 40W subwoofer with low-frequency enhancement between 50Hz and 24KHz. The soundbar has the usual set of connectivity options like USB, Bluetooth, HDMI ARC, and Aux cable. It has been priced at INR 6,999 with sales via Realme.com, Amazon, and Flipkart.
