Redmi may launch a soundbar in India ahead of upcoming festive season

08 October 2020 0

Redmi, the sub-brand by the Chinese company Xiaomi has so far forayed into the diverse sectors of consumer electronics. It first built its strong footprint in the growing smartphone market and then gradually stepped into other areas that mainly include audio products, wearable, and smart TVs. And, just like its parent company Xiaomi, it is also spanning countries and offering its products at affordable price tags. Just recently it launched new wireless earphones and truly wireless earbuds in India and if the latest tip is to be believed, the company is even planning to launch its soundbar for the first time in the country.

The tech publication 91Mobiles in its report cites the very known tipster Ishan Agarwal and states that Redmi is gearing up to launch its Redmi TV Soundbar in the country. The exact launch timeframe is unknown but the report points out that the soundbar could arrive ahead of the upcoming festive season. No other details are available yet but it is expected to be the same soundbar that the company introduced in China first.

And, if that is the case, expect the soundbar to offer 30W output capacity. It may come as a 45x80 runway-type full-range speaker and is expected to come equipped with a duct-type sound cavity. Also, the Redmi TV Soundbar could offer S/PDIF and AUX port for wired connectivity and Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless. It could come in a matte black color option with wall mount support as well. The price of this soundbar in China is 199 CNY which is equivalent to 2,147 INR.

Manufacturers tweak a few things when they launch their existing products to other markets. It is also possible that Redmi India will bring a few changes to its soundbar, though expect aesthetic changes only.
