Amazon Fire TV gets redesigned UI with improved content discovery

10 December 2020 0

Amazon has redesigned the Fire TV interface with a new look and some new additions as well. Amazon touts it is rolling out its most significant experience update for the Fire TV line of products yet. The new update prioritizes ease over fancy functions by improving content discovery, thus making it easier to find what a user wants.

The Home screen has been revamped to make it a single destination to access just everything. The Main Menu now resides at the center of the home page so that you can simply scroll over your apps to get a preview of our content and jump directly into your favorite shows on supported streaming services. From here, you can find popular features like Find, Live TV, Library, and your pinned apps.

Amazon touts the new ‘Find’ experience lets you search and browse by popular categories like movies, TV shows, and other free ad-supported content.

Also, you can now create as many as six profiles on a single account and manage your personalized recommendations, view history, and more.

The new Fire TV UI aims at improving voice controls as well. It offers to create an optional Alexa Voice Profile so that Fire TV will recognize your voice and automatically switch to your customized profile. You just have to say, “Alexa, switch to my profile” and Fire TV will recognize your voice and automatically switch over to your customized profile.

The all-new Fire TV experience will be available globally on the next generation Fire TV Stick and all-new Fire TV Stick Lite later this year.
