OnePlus is primarily a smartphone manufacturer but with time, it has ventured into other product categories. One of these categories is smart TVs which debuted in September 2019. There are currently five different OnePlus TV models and all of them are exclusive to the Indian market. It has finally talked about global expansion plans.
As reported by WinFuture.de, OnePlus CEO and founder Pete Lau has said that OnePlus TVs will launch in Europe. The team is working on the expansion plan but is not sure about a timeline yet. It means while bringing OnePlus TVs to Europe is definitely a goal for the company, there is no confirmation on when it would actually happen.
There is no doubt that expanding to Europe will definitely be beneficial for OnePlus. It is a market with significant demand for Android-powered smart TVs, especially the ones with native Chromecast support. Both of these things are available with each of the OnePlus TV models. Even one of its closes rivals Xiaomi has been offering its Mi TV lineup in Europe for the past couple of years.
Since Europe has a good demand and different TV makers competing with each other, pricing is something that will play a crucial role for OnePlus. If it manages to price its TVs just right for the market, we can definitely expect the brand to cause ripples in the smart TV market. But as we do not know when will the OnePlus TV launch in Europe take place, we can only wait and hope.
