26 August 2021 0

Xiaomi has officially unveiled its Mi TV 5X Series of Android TV-powered smart televisions in India. The lineup was introduced at the same event where it took wraps off the Mi Band 6 and Mi Notebook Ultra/Pro models. There are three different display size variants packed with high-end features meant to deliver a complete entertainment experience.

The Mi TV 5X Series is available in 43-inch, 50-inch, and 55-inch display options. Each of these boasts a 4K Dolby Vision panel with HDR10+ support and a 96.6% screen-to-body ratio. The smart TV features metallic frames as well as the base but a carbon fiber finish on the rear side. Other display features include Vivid Picture Engine 2, adaptive brightness, 94% DCI-P3 wide color gamut, and Reality Flow MEMC engine.

The TV lineup comes loaded with 30W stereo speakers on the 43-inch model and 40W stereo speakers on the other two models with Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD audio. Under the hood, it is powered by a 64-bit quad-core A55 chip processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB of onboard storage for installing apps and games. It offers three HDMI 2.1 ports with Auto Low Latency Mode, two USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet port, an AV input port, an optical port, and a headphone jack.

Xiaomi's Mi TV 5X series runs PatchWall 4 custom UI over Android TV 10 out of the box on the software front. The custom skin now shows IMDb ratings for movies and TV shows right there so that users do not have to look for it manually. It further offers features like Universal search, Kids mode, smarter recommendations, and Mi Home app support. There is native Chromecast compatibility as well as Google Assistant integration.

As for pricing, Xiaomi has priced the Mi TV 5X 43-inch at INR 31,999. The other models i.e. 50-inch and 55-inch will cost you INR 41,999 and INR 47,999 respectively. These will be sold via Flipkart, Xiaomi's online store, and various offline retailers starting September 7th.
