09 December 2021 0

Google Stadia cloud-based game streaming service.is now available on select LG smart TVs. The announcement was made by LG through an official blog post. It can be used on an LG smart TV as long it is running webOS 5.0 or webOS 6.0. The user should also be residing in one of the 22 countries where Google has officially launched Stadia.

The announcement reveals that LG smart TV users can download Google Stadia by visiting the LG Content Store. The app will be a free download but you will need to have a valid subscription to make use of the service. Depending on the particular LG smart TV model you have, you will be able to enjoy video games in up to 4K resolution with HDR, 60 frames per second, and 5.1 surround sound.

For the uninitiated, Google Stadia is an online service that allows users to stream video games on a wide range of devices like smartphones, tablets, laptops, smart TVs, and streaming sticks. It has a subscription called Stadia Pro which is priced at $10 per month. It offers support for 4K HDR gaming with 5.1 surround sound. It further supports different gaming controllers for a better gaming experience.

This is the second game streaming service that has made its way to LG smart TVs. NVIDIA's GeForce Now was released for its TVs last month. It means LG users now have an option to choose from two different game streaming services.
