Samsung is continuing with its tradition of announcing new TV lineups during the annual CES tech show. As we have entered the CES 2022 week, it has taken wraps off the new Micro LED, Neo QLED, and Lifestyle TV lineups. The last one has three different model series called The Frame, The Sero, and The Serif. Let's have a look at each of these one at a time.
Samsung's 2022 Micro LED TVs are available in three display sizes i.e. 110-inch, 101-inch, and 89-inch. These TVs are known for housing millions of LEDs capable of producing light and color at an individual level. This is said to help in delivering picture quality with impressive depth, vibrant colors, and a heightened level of clarity and contrast.
The panel supports 20-bit greyscale depth, 100% DCI and Adobe RGB color gamut, improved HDR, and Dolby Atmos audio. These new TVs feature a Multi-View mode where users can watch content from any or all of the four HDMI source ports at the same time. Another good thing is that these ports support 4K content at 120 frames per second.
There is a 99.99% screen-to-body ratio for an immersive viewing experience. Users can also select and display their favorite artwork or digital photography on the TV when not watching anything.
Samsung has unveiled 2022 Neo QLED TVs in 4K and 8K resolution models. These are powered by a new Neo Quantum Processor that brings advanced contrast mapping with the black-light unit (BLU). The brightness level has increased from 12 to 14-bit gradation and lighting control has quadrupled from 4,096 steps to 16,384 steps.
It has new Shape Adaptive Light technology capable of enhancing the brightness and accuracy of all shapes on the screen. It makes use of the processor to analyze lines, shapes, and surfaces to control the light's shape. Another tech available with these TVs is Real Depth Enhancer claimed to "a greater sense of realism by determining and processing an object on the screen against its background to create a sense of depth".
There is also an EyeComfort mode that can auto-adjust display brightness and tone depending on the light sensor as well as sunrise and sunset time.
Samsung has announced its latest range of Lifestyle TVs with a bunch of new features. The Frame, The Sero, and The Serif lineups feature a new Matte Display with anti-glare, anti-reflection, and anti-fingerprint properties. The panel is said to have received three certifications from the Underwriter Laboratories. These certifications are for ‘Reflection Glare Free’, ‘Discomfort Glare Free’, and ‘Disability Glare Free’.
