LG has officially announced its 2022 lineup of smart TVs at CES 2022. It includes a bunch of new OLEDs and a few QNED with Mini LED models. The company is claiming brighter OLED panels on the newer generation along with other improvements. There is also a new Game Optimizer menu that hosts different gaming features.
The LG G2 and LG C2 are the two main highlights of the 2022 LG OLED TV lineup. Both of these models build upon the features and display quality their respective predecessors offered. The LG G2 series gets two new variants: 83-inch and 97-inch. The latter is claimed to be the world's first 97-inch OLED TV model. These join the existing options of 55-inch, 65-inch, and 77-inch.
The LG C2 series has received a new 42-inch model aimed at console and PC gamers. It is the smallest LG OLED TV that you can get. Other size variants are 48-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, 77-inch, and 83-inch. Both series are powered by LG's newest Alpha 9 Gen 5 processor. It is said to deliver improved content upscaling and add a 3D effect to onscreen images. The LG G2 series gets Brightness Booster tech that will make the display panel up to 20% brighter than the G1 variants.
While both LG G2 and C2 are premium range of4K OLED TVs, LG has also taken wraps off A2 and B2 lineups that are relatively more affordable. We also have the LG Z2 which is the only 8K OLED TV from the company. All of these models will run the new user experience i.e. webOS 22 which brings a bunch of new features. It includes the ability to create user profiles for personalized recommendations, mirror smartphone's display on TV using the NFC Magic Tap app, mirror content from one room to another via Room to Room Share, and use the TV as a controller for smart home devices.
LG's QNED Mini LED TV lineup for 2022 has three new 4K models: 90-inch, 85-inch, and 80-inch. There are also 8K models available in 99-inch and 95-inch options. These models are powered by LG's Quantum Dot NanoCell technology capable of supporting 100% color volume. There is support for Precision Dimming tech to help TVs deliver a superior contrast ratio. LG says viewers will get to see complete color consistency even from different viewing angles.
