Vivo has introduced the AI-powered Super HDR tech recently at an event held in China. Integrating the Artificial Intelligence into their smartphone camera’s Super HDR mode will enable the camera to take 12 separate frames into one shot. This is obviously more than the usual HDR mode.
The Super HDR tech from Vivo will also choose different parts of the frames dynamically to ensure the best details in the final picture. The Super HDR mode will use the “complex AI algorithms” to offer the best quality even despite the challenging lighting conditions, and this will happen as soon as the shutter is pressed. So, this promises clearer photos with better colors, more details, and better tones. This Super HDR can reach up to 14 EV and can capture up to 12 frames.
Vivo isn’t the first company to make use of AI into photography. LG at MWC announced the new variant of V30, which is AI-enabled and has many features that make the camera of the device self-sufficient when it comes to defining the pictures like recognizing and then looking for the mode shot for them. However, Vivo’s latest tech isn’t that advanced and works only at the level of improving the quality of the subject.
With the introduction of an AI-powered HDR, Vivo is stepping up the game of smartphone photography and this will provide a new name to Vivo phones.
Alex Feng, Senior Vice President at Vivo said,
Vivo continues to push the boundaries and provide the ultimate camera experience for consumers. This goes beyond just adding powerful functions, but to developing innovations that our users can immediately enjoy. Today’s showcase of Super HDR is an example of our continued commitment to mobile photography, to enable our consumers to shoot professional quality photos at the touch of a button. Using intelligent AI, Super HDR can capture more detail under any conditions, without additional demands on the user.
The announcement of Vivo didn’t mention which device will feature this new Super HDR tech but if we consider a few reports from China, this tech may get featured on the upcoming Vivo Apex. We are yet to know any concrete details on this matter.
So, stay tuned while we collect more information to present before you.
