Vivo is a brand name synonymous with making smartphones but it is also working on expanding to tablets. The rumors suggested the first Vivo tablet would arrive in January but that did not happen. It was confirmed officially by the company's vice president that the release has been moved to the first half of 2022. Now, we have come across a fresh report revealing some more information.
As per the well-known and usually reliable Weibo-based tipster Digital Chat Station, a Vivo tablet will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. It is important to note that the leakster has not confirmed whether this is for the first tablet model or one of the models that Vivo will launch in due course of time.
The official name of the tablet is unknown but a recent report suggested it could be called Vivo Pad. This is based on a trademark application filed by Vivo with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). The application mentions tablets as one of the product categories for which the "Vivo Pad" trademark will be valid.
The Android tablet market has seen a sudden increase in terms of products getting announced or under development. We have already seen Xiaomi unveil Mi Pad 5 series, Realme Pad, Motorola's Tab G20, and Nokia's T20 tablet. There have been rumors of Oppo working on a premium tablet with a huge 12.6-inch display and ColorOS as the software experience. These offerings have joined existing options from the likes of Samsung, Huawei, and Lenovo. It seems like the Android tablet market is set to get more diverse again.
