Michael Kors Runway smartwatch gets Wear OS, touchscreen, and more features

15 August 2018 1

Michael Kors, the creator of designer accessories, watches, and more has revamped its traditional watch Runway. The company has announced an important update to its popular Runway series of smartwatches so as to make them more productive. It has now received a plenty of new features, thanks to the Wear OS platform addition.

Design-wise, nothing has changed; there’s a 12-inch display with a 390x390 circular display with metal casing. The only change is the addition is the silicone watch band that is best suited for the physical activity than the traditional steel one. However, another important change is the addition of a touchscreen that makes things more accessible.

The Michael Kors Runway with Wear OS features GPS, NFC for Google Pay support, 3 ATM water resistance that makes the watch “swim-proof.” The battery offers the backup for a completely one-day usage.

The price of the Michael Kors revamped Runway ranges from $290 to $450 depending upon the model you choose. The smartwatch is still powered by Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor so nothing major is added here. Another notable feature is the heart rate monitor that counts the heart-beat of the watch.

According to Engadget, there are customizable “photo dials with themed stickers.” There are also new watch faces that focus on heart rate. The watch is available for purchase now at the official website.

An addition like the silicone band is no small change. It's something different from the earlier watches and things like these easily become the USP of devices.
