As spotted by 9to5Mac folks within the iOS 14 source code, Apple is working on at least one major change for watchOS 7. It will be the next major update for the operating system meant for Apple Watch smartwatches. It is reported that the upcoming watchOS 7 will bring dedicated kids mode and relevant features.

The team is reported to be considering how to tweak Activity Rings for kids. In the standard mode, Activity Rings are meant to show the number of calories burned (Red), number of minutes of exercise (Green), and time spent through standing movement (Blue). It is Apple Watch's signature way of showing daily goals and daily workout data to users so that they can stay updated with just a glance.

It is speculated that the existing method could prove to be confusing for kids. This is why Apple is thinking about how to tweak the feature so that it is easier to understand as well it encourages users to achieve the goals. It means we could even see the activity goals getting change to better suit kids.

It is further reported that Apple will allow users to add more than one Apple Watch smartwatches to a single Apple ID. This new functionality will allow parents to gift their kids Apple Watch without having to purchase an iPhone for them. They will be able to manage their smartwatches and activities directly from their own iPhones.
