Update: April 13, 2020
OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z is expected to go official alongside the new OnePlus 8 series on April 14. The new earphones are considered to be the affordable version of Bullets Wireless 2 but they showcase a new design and silicone ear-tips. OnePlus has teased the new earphones via Twitter, though it hasn’t addressed them so we can’t be sure on the name. The image shared in the teaser shows just a glimpse of the earphones. But very little changes are visible. The new pair has a glossy finish and there is a new color, one out of the four which were rumored before.

OnePlus is reportedly gearing up to launch OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z, an affordable version of its OnePlus Bullets 2 earphones. But it is unknown exactly when these new wireless earphones will launch. There are a couple of reports around on its suspected features and design, though. Recently, very popular tipster Evan Blass shared the renders of these alleged earphones in four different colors, and earlier, tipster Ishan Agarwal pointed out the accessory to be the affordable version of the second-gen Bullets wireless earphones. Now, the same tipster has shared more details on Bullets Wireless Z.
According to his latest revelation in collaboration with the site Pricebaba, the Bullets Wireless Z will support Warp Charge fast-charging tech, just like the OnePlus phones. It is reported that the new affordable wireless earphones will be able to provide up to 10 hours of usage with just a 10-minute charge. On a full charge, the wireless earphones will be able to offer 20 hours of battery.
Additionally, the Bullets Wireless Z will feature IP55 certification which means it will be protected against dust and water splashes for 5-10 minutes. Also, the wireless earphones will feature Bluetooth latency of just 110ms, which means the delay between the audio signal being sent and heard by us is pretty low. Compared to them, Apple’s AirPods Pro features a latency of 144ms.
The current Wireless Bullets 2 does offer a very slight delay in the audio. However, OnePlus has added aptX HD that takes care of the audio and offers you the quality better than steaming over AAC with an Android phone. The Bullets Wireless Z are allegedly the budget variant of the Bullets Wireless 2 and they are less likely to include aptX HD like premium features. If the rumor of them being the affordable ones is true then OnePlus will trim down a couple of things but without compromising on the quality. And, this could be the reason that they may be coming with low latency as they may not have some better supportive tech that could fine-tune the overall experience even better.
The upcoming Bullets Wireless Z is expected to come in black, white, blue, and green colors. The launch details are unknown and it is unlikely to unveil on April 14 when OnePlus will launch new OnePlus 8 series.
The fast charging tech on the wireless earphones will be an interesting feature to gain some traction.
