Facebook's NPE team is responsible for working on experimental apps that tend to offer functionalities you are unlikely to find through main Facebook apps. It recently released a couple focused app called Tuned and now, it has rolled out a new app named Kit (Keep in Touch) for Apple Watch users.
The all-new Kit is essentially a messaging app but for those who own an Apple Watch. It is powered by Messenger which means it allows users to connect with their Facebook friends. The main aim of the app is to make it possible for users to send messages even when they do not have their iPhones nearby.
It supports sending voice messages as well as texts using the Scribble input method. A user can also share his current location as well as send Emoji to express themselves better in a conversation. Speech-to-text functionality is also supported by the Kit app on Apple Watch.
Once the Kit app has been installed, it can be used by scanning a QR code on the Apple Watch. Another option is to visit facebook.com/devices and get an access code. It will then show Facebook contacts in the Apple Watch and a conversation can be started by tapping on the preferred contact.
