Realme Watch design, specifications, and full details leak ahead of launch

28 April 2020 0

The existence of the Realme smartwatch is getting more and more pronounced as we are moving forward. Realme’s CEO Madhav Sheth has already confirmed it and even offered a glimpse of the same in one of the episodes of AskMadhav video. The smartwatch reportedly also crossed a few important certifications, but none of them was able to reveal many details. And, looking at the current scenario which has locked everything down, it was assumed that the speculated Realme Watch may not arrive too soon.

But now a thorough report on the Realme smartwatch just reboots everything and forms a strong base for whatever comes after that. One of the notable developers at XDA Developers has come up with a vast amount of information on Realme Watch and even shared pictures of the watch. The whole report on the Realme Watch gives you insights into the device functions and there are renders of the watch and screenshots of some features included as well.

First off, the render (featured above) looks exactly the same which we saw on Madhav Sheth’s wrist. It features a square display with rounded corners, thick bezels all around and there is Realme branding below to bottom bezel. It has a physical push button on the right edge which probably be used to lock and unlock the watch. It may be used for navigating with functions like returning back to the main screen and so. It doesn’t look like the bands around the watch are detachable in nature. There are charging pins on the hard polycarbonate back cover plate, this means the watch may get charged with the help of a magnetic charger.

Apart from revealing the overall look of the watch, the report also puts all the specifications of the Realme Watch in front of us. The Realme Watch will feature a 1.4-inch TFT LCD touchscreen display with a 320x320 pixel resolution. It may come with a 160mAh battery capacity that would deliver about 7 days of life with a 24-hour heart rate monitoring. The watch is said to be IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. It supports Bluetooth 5.0 for quick pairing with a smartphone. There is no GPS onboard. Other sensors available are an acceleration sensor, a heart rate sensor, and a blood oxygen sensor as well.

The report also reveals an important aspect and that is the Watch will not run on Android Wear OS, rather it will run on a proprietary OS for lower cost smartwatches. As per the report, the Watch will be able to store data for 7 days as limited onboard storage is available.

The Realme Watch is reported to have five preloaded watch faces, though the developer believes that users would be able to download more watch faces through a companion app. The developer has even shared the screenshot of those watch faces.

The Realme Watch will feature some basic functions which are also available in other smartwatches like step counting, weather information, stopwatch, Find My Phone, and more. Most of these functions will be accessible through the Watch UI panes, where each pane is going to have four icons.

The first-ever smartwatch from Realme will be able to track 15 different kinds of exercises as well. There are also functions around sedentary reminders, water reminders. Also, the Activity pane within the UI shows the Weather data, your sleep data, your heart rate data, and your data related to step counting. Realme Watch will also be able to control music on your phone. One can also use the Watch as a Bluetooth shutter button to control your phone’s camera.

As the developer points out, the greatest selling point of the Realme Watch could be its ability to support everything in Hindi, in addition to the English language.

The report has revealed almost everything about the Realme Watch. Now, what remains to be seen is its official launch and we believe, it may happen alongside the launch of the Narzo series.
