When Xiaomi launched Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 in India about a couple of months ago, fans and tech enthusiasts started to speculate a similar move from Redmi. The wait is finally over as Redmi Earbuds S truly wireless earphones have been announced in India today. These are simply a rebranded version of Redmi AirDots that were originally introduced in China.
The Redmi Earbuds S features a compact design and they might even go unnoticed when plugged in if someone is in right front of the user. Redmi is claiming them to be "ultra lightweight" which means users should be able to use them for hours before feeling any discomfort. The earbuds come with 7.2mm audio drivers and decent stereo sound support.
These are said to last for up to 4 hours on a single charge and up to 12 hours with the help of the charging case. There is Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity for a faster pairing process with an option to use either both or only one earbud. It further offers a low latency gaming mode where latency is claimed to be as low as 122ms.
The earbuds support touch gestures for accepting/rejecting calls, triggering assistant, and controlling music playback. It also has IPX4 certification for protection against sweat and splash. The Redmi Earbuds S are priced at just Rs. 1,799 with Black being the only color option. These will go on sale starting May 27th afternoon via Mi.com, Amazon India, Mi Home stores, and Mi Studio outlets across the country.
