Oppo is reportedly gearing up to launch a smartwatch globally and if the recently promoted GIF by the company is to be considered, this smartwatch would run Wear OS by Google. According to the tech publications that spotted it first, the smartwatch will launch on July 31 and it will probably land in the US first, well thanks to the FCC listing that suggests us so.
The GIF shows a glimpse of the smartwatch and it looks identical to Apple Watch in terms of design. This watch is said to be the global variant of the smartwatch that Oppo launched earlier this earlier. The most prominent difference between the two appears to be the operating system. The Chinese version runs Oppo’s own ColorOS and the global version features Wear OS and this changes a lot of things, from just UX to many more compatibilities and functionality.
This global variant is said to be debuting in the US on July 31, though there are not many specifications available. However, we could just take reverse gear and know what specs FCC listing suggested in the past.
The unnamed global variant of Oppo Watch is said to be powered by Snapdragon Wear 2500 processor and has 1GB RAM with a 430mAh battery. This suggests the wearable has some unchanged internal specifications and this way we can conclude on the remaining specifications. So expect to see a 1.9-inch AMOLED panel with 402x476 pixels resolution with thin bezels.
We are almost a week away from the said launch so let’s wait to see the future unfolding the mystery.
