Fossil, an American fashion designer that creates designer smartwatches has launched a new smartwatch called the Gen 5E smartwatch. This new smartwatch comes as a slightly toned-down version of the Fossil Gen 5 smartwatches that the company introduced back in August last year.
The new Fossil Gen 5E comes in two sizes – 42mm and 44mm and in multiple colors for both men and women. They all run Wear OS by Google and are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor. They all get 1GB RAM and 4GB storage. The new Fossil Gen 5E features a 1.19-inch AMOLED display with 390x390 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 328ppi. It is an Always-On display with thousands of watch faces.
According to Fossil, the battery can last for more than 24 hours in Extended Mode and the smartwatch models can be charged to 80 percent in 50 minutes.
Fossil 5E can track activity goals, steps, sleep, heart rate, cardio level, and more. All the models also come with the Google Fit for activity tracking and some battery modes, including Daily Mode, Extended Mode, Time Only Mode, and Custom Mode. Sensors onboard include an accelerometer, gyroscope, off-body IR, and PPG heart rate sensor.
The Fossil Gen 5E has a built-in speaker and mic to answer calls and allow you to control music. It lets you make contactless payments as well and control your smart home devices.
The Fossil Gen 5E Black Silicone smartwatch comes with 5ATM water resistance whereas the Gen 5E Brown Leather and Black Stainless Steel options come with 3ATM water resistance. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC, GPS, LTE, and Wi-Fi.
The price of the Fossil 5E starts at $249 and it is currently available on the official website as well.
