HTC is rumored to be working on its first-ever truly wireless earphones aka TWS. This is a new product category that we have seen many other phone brands venture into. HTC's plans to launch TWS earphones were first reported in May and now, we have a fresh set of leaks corroborating the same.
The latest leak is based on a listing spotted on the National Certification Corporation (NCC) website. It suggests that the earbuds might be called HTC TWS1 but it could also be a temporary name. The earbuds can be seen in Black and White color options which are likely to be the only two color variants.
Since these are TWS, you will see two earbuds and a charging case along with a USB-C charging cable. There is speculation that HTC TWS will be powered by a 480mAh battery. This is accumulative battery capacity obtained through 400mAh battery in the carrying case and 40mAh battery in each of the earbuds.
These earbuds are further expected to have an LED for showing different alerts and information. There could also be touch/gesture-based controls for quick music playback control and picking/rejecting calls. These are the features that one expects from a pair of truly wireless earbuds.
There is no information related to a possible launch date. The chances of a 2020 announcement are looking slim as only a month is left but is not impossible for sure. We will keep you updated on all future developments.
