Samsung has officially unveiled its newest pair of truly wireless earphones called Galaxy Buds Pro. These have been made official alongside the Galaxy S21 5G series at this year's first Galaxy Unpacked event. These are direct successors to the Galaxy Buds Live and are now the most expensive TWS offering from the brand.
The Galaxy Buds Pro features a design that is more in line with the Galaxy Buds+. These are canal-type earbuds claimed to deliver a comfortable fit and also audio improvement. Samsung says the design will ensure that the users do not get that "clogged-up" feeling after wearing them. The charging and carrying case on the other hand looks the same as the Buds Live one.
These new earbuds are powered by an 11-millimeter woofer for deeper bass and a 6.5-millimeter tweeter for a crisp treble with minimum distortion. Samsung is claiming that users will get the "most intelligent active noise cancellation (ANC)" when it comes to truly wireless earbuds. It will essentially allow manual adjustment of the ANC level where the background noise can be reduced up to 99%. If the user wishes to amplify external sounds, they will be able to do so for up to 20 decibels with the help of the Ambient Sound feature. Both these features will also work together and automatically to best adapt to your surroundings.
The buds have three microphones and a Voice Pickup Unit (VPU) that separates the user's voice from other unwanted sounds. If you have two Galaxy devices, like a phone or tablet, you can choose to pair these buds with both of them at the same time. It will then automatically toggle between the two devices without requiring you to do any manual switching. So if you are watching something on your tablet and you happen to receive a phone call, the buds will automatically pause the content and switch to the phone. Once you are done with the call, they will switch back to the tablet so that you can resume watching.
There is support for 360 Audio powered by Dolby's Head Movement tracking technology. It will deliver an immersive audio experience when connected with other Galaxy devices, especially the newly launched Galaxy S21 devices. Samsung says Galaxy Buds Pro can last for up to 8 hours on a single charge and up to 5 hours with ANC enabled. The charging case can provide an additional 20 hours and 13 hours with ANC disabled and enabled respectively. The quick charging will further help you get one hour of playback after just five minutes of charging.
The Galaxy Buds Pro is available for $199.99 and can be purchased in Phantom Black, Phantom Violet, and Phantom Silver color options.
