Acer has launched three new pairs of TWS earbuds in India. This is the first time that the brand well-known for making laptops and computers is entering the TWS market. Two of the models are available under the Acer True Wireless Stereo earbuds lineup and are aimed at the budget-friendly segment. The third one is a premium offering released under the Gateway branding.
Acer's Gateway TWS earbuds(GAHR012) have a design that will instantly remind you of the Apple AirPods Pro. Both the earbuds and the charging case look identical to what Apple has been offering. These support Android's fast pairing functionality so that users can quickly pair them with any Android smartphone or tablet or even a PC. The pairing starts as soon as the user opens the case.
These buds come with 9mm drivers and Bluetooth 5.0 support. It should make them work with any modern device that you may have regardless of the brand and platform. There is a USB Type-C port for charging purposes and the case has light indicators to show the battery level. The buds are claimed to last for up to four hours on their own but thanks to the case, the users will get an additional 24 hours of usage time. The charging time is said to be around 90 minutes (0 to 100%). It also has an IPX4 certification rating for water resistance.
The Gateway TWS earbuds have been priced at INR 3,499 with online sales exclusive to Amazon and Flipkart. These are available in a single White color option.
The Acer True Wireless Stereo TWS lineup has two different models: GAHR010 and GAHR011. Both of these are almost identical except for one major difference. The latter variant has a charging level indicator on the case which is missing on the GAHR010. Other major features on both these models are similar and what you would expect.
The earbuds have an 8mm audio driver with support for Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity. The latter is the newest Bluetooth standard but unfortunately, the buds do not support fancy features like aptX, LDAC, and the ability to connect to multiple devices at once. These support touch controls for music playback, attending calls, and triggering voice assistant.
The battery life is claimed to be of around four hours on a single charge. It also has a USB Type-C port for charging with about 90 minutes of charging time. The unique thing is that Acer has offered an in-built charging cable with the case. The GAHR010 only has a USB Type-C cable and the GAHR011 has both USB Type-C and USB Type-A cables.
If interested, you will be able to grab Acer GAHR010 and GAHR011 for INR 2,499 and INR 2,999 respectively. Both the earbuds models are available in Black color.
