Huawei has launched the FreeBuds 4i, truly wireless stereo earbuds in China. Some of the major highlights of the FreeBuds 4i are ANC support and 3D bionic design. Apart from these, Huawei also touts the 10 hours of battery backup of the newly-launched earbuds.
The Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) support reduces unwanted background noise so that you can have a clear audio experience while you listen to some music or watch videos. The FreeBuds 4i features a 3D bionic design so that they can fit perfectly inside your ear.
The FreeBuds 4i feature touch controls as well, like double-tap or long-press to perform certain actions without the need of taking the connected phone out. For instance, with the help of a double-tap on the left or right earphones, you can play/pause, change music as well as attend the call. The long-press, on the other hand, enables or disables the ANC, transparent mode, or cancels both of the support.
The FreeBuds 4i by Huawei also feature wear detection, which means they can detect when the user has taken them out of the case.
According to Huawei, the 55mAh battery inside each FreeBuds 4i earbud and 215mAh capacity in the charging box promise up to 10 hours of battery backup. On regular use, a user can listen up to 7.5 hours of music with ANC enabled, 10 hours if disabled. The earbuds take at least 60 minutes to 100% charge inside the box and the charging box takes about 90 minutes (22 hours backup support). The FreeBuds 4i supports Bluetooth 4.2 for faster connectivity.
The price of the Huawei FreeBuds 4i is CNY 499 (~$80) and it comes in Red, Black, and White color options. They are currently available for pre-order on Vmall in China and go on sale on March 8. Currently, there is no information on whether or not the FreeBuds 4i will be available outside China.
