Realme has officially unveiled its newest pair of affordable truly wireless earbuds (TWS) named Realme Buds Air 2 alongside the Narzo 30 smartphone lineup. These are direct successor to the original Realme Buds Air from late 2019. The newest offering comes with a new design and is packed with various improvements.
The Realme Buds Air 2 features an in-canal fit which we have also seen with the Realme Buds Air Pro. The main highlight is active noise cancellation (ANC) support which makes the most affordable TWS with ANC support from a well-established brand. Realme says that the buds are capable of canceling external sounds by up to 25dB and can filter out most low-frequency noise, including the rumble of airplanes, the subway, and other transportation tools.
The buds are packed with a 10mm audio driver with a Diamond-like Carbon coating on the diaphragm. This will help users get clearer sound, richer bass, and better frequency response. Realme has also collaborated with popular EDM DJs The Chainsmokers for optimal audio tuning of the buds. Under the hood, these are powered by the custom Realme R2 processor which is said to deliver 80% better battery life and 30% reduced latency.
Like other Realme offerings, the Buds Air 2 comes with a dedicated gaming mode with latency as low as 88ms. Other important features include transparency mode, smart wear detection, and fast charging mode. The buds are claimed to last for up to 5 hours on a single charge and up to 25 hours of overall playback time. As for charging, it is said to deliver 120 minutes of playback time with just 10 minutes of charging.
The Realme Buds Air 2 has been priced at INR 3,299 with sales beginning March 2nd. There are two color options named Closer White and Closer Black. It will be sold via Flipkart, Realme's online store, and various offline retailers.
