18 March 2021 0

UPDATE (March 18th, 2021):

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has officially confirmed that the OnePlus Watch will not launch with Google's Wear OS. It will be making use of a custom operating system and companion app as we have seen with the likes of Amazfit smartwatches. The official announcement says, "Our priority for devices that are part of the OnePlus ecosystem is to offer fashionable designs, provide seamless connectivity and deliver a best-in-class user experience."

The OnePlus Watch is further said to feature a "stunning and burdenless design" and seamless connectivity support with other OnePlus products/accessories/peripherals at an affordable price point. The smartwatch will go official on March 23rd alongside the OnePlus 9 series.

Original (March 17th, 2021)

As we are just one week away from the first OnePlus smartwatch launch, reliable tipster Ishan Agarwal has collaborated with an online publication Pricebaba to reveal crucial details. The leak talks about OnePlus Watch specifications and crucial features that might make it worth the consideration.

The tipster claims that the OnePlus Watch will be available in 46mm size. It is unknown whether it will be the only size or there will be other options, like maybe a smaller version. The connectivity options are another mystery at this point. It will have the usual features like automatic workout detection, heart rate monitoring, swimming mode, stress tracking, and SpO2 sensor.

It will have sleep tracking which is something that is quite common among smartwatches available in the market. The watch will be able to do tasks like showing an incoming call notification, app alerts, app notifications, and music playback controls. There is an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. It will offer 4GB of onboard storage and support for Warp Charge fast charging. It is claimed to deliver a week's worth of juice with just 20 minutes of charge. And yes, the smartwatch can also be used as a remote control for OnePlus TVs.

Lastly, the OnePlus Watch is said to land in Silver and Black color options. There are no words on the pricing at the moment but if any new reports emerge, we will keep you posted.
