Samsung unveiled the Galaxy SmartTag Plus tracking device earlier this year and while it did announce the pricing details, it didn’t reveal when the device will be available for purchase. Interestingly, the tracking device is now listed on B&H Photo in the US for pre-orders.
Note that the shipping details are still unknown and the listing just tags “coming soon.” So, we can’t tell exactly when the Galaxy SmartTag Plus will come to the market. Previously, at the launch, Samsung, however, said the device will arrive “later this year,” which is quite too far. It is possible that if you pre-order it today, it might reach you by the end of this year. Details are pretty scarce at the moment, so we can’t tell about the exact availability. But, the description of the unit also reads April 12 as expected availability. So, the availability details are pretty much unclear. Let's just wait a bit more if you have waited so far.
The Galaxy SmartTag Plus was launched in January alongside the Galaxy SmartTag Bluetooth tracker. Compared to the standard Galaxy SmartTag, the SmartTag Plus uses a combination of UWB (Ultra-Wideband) technology and Bluetooth 5.0 to enable AR tracking for the precise location of items. It can track your lost belongings like keys, wallets and even help you locate your pets.
The device takes the help of the SmartThings app to recover the lost items. The app can be used to play a tone from the Galaxy SmartTag so that you can locate the lost items easily.
The Galaxy SmartTag Plus utilizes the camera on your phone and overlays “precise” navigation data via UWB, letting you more easily navigate yourself to your misplaced object.
The price of the Galaxy SmartTag+ listed on B&H Photo is the same as the official price. It costs $39.99 and comes in Black and Oatmeal color options. Currently, only the Black color is available for pre-order.
