A couple of past reports have suggested that Samsung will launch a Wear OS-powered smartwatch. This could mean that Samsung might ditch its own TizenOS. Now, a new report has emerged that claims Samsung is indeed bringing a WearOS powered smartwatch.
SamMobile claims that it can confirm the upcoming smartwatch runs Wear OS. In a special report, the publication has shared more details as well. According to SamMobile, Samsung has not one but three smartwatches to launch soon. The site claims all these speculated smartwatches run Wear OS.
The site goes on to state that these three smartwatches are internally codenamed Wise, Fresh, and Lucky. Wise features a classic design with the rotating bezel ring. The others two watches will include an Active model, with sporty design elements.
The site claims while Samsung is making a switch to Wear OS this time, it will top its smartwatches with One UI 3.x to add its own touch. According to SamMobile, this is going to be an entirely new version of One UI for Samsung’s wearable devices. This means we might see a different interface that could reflect Samsung’s UI language.
Addressing one of these smartwatches as Galaxy Watch 4, the site claims that it could transform into a walkie-talkie. The feature will enable users to send short voice messages to their friends. For comparison, Apple Watch has this feature already.
It is currently unknown when Samsung will launch these new speculated wearables. The tech site, however, points out that Samsung might choose to launch at least, the Galaxy Watch 4 alongside the new foldable phones that are tipped to launch in August.
