Tidal Apple Music app launched with offline download support

26 May 2021 0

Tidal is the newest music streaming service to release an official Apple Watch application. The app will allow users to listen to their favorite music tracks from anywhere and without relying on iPhone. It can work standalone as it supports offline downloading of tracks. This particular feature was added by Spotify just last week.

Tidal for Apple Watch is a free-to-download application that can be installed through the App Store. A user will need to launch the app and link it with his account to get started. The app will let users stream music and control playback directly from the Apple Watch without any need for continuous pairing with iPhone.

The offline download feature will let users store songs for offline usage. It will be beneficial for times when there is no internet connectivity around. It goes without saying that users will get to enjoy the music streaming benefits as per their current subscription tiers but the music streaming quality will be restricted to 96 Kbps.

The only thing to keep in mind is that one will need to have an Apple Watch 3 or a newer model. It should also be running at least watchOS 7.1 as the operating system version.
