27 July 2021
Nothing, a new London-based consumer tech company has now officially announced its first product ear (1) will launch on July 27th in an event. Two weeks back, the company announced a slight delay in the launch, and today it is confirming the exact launch date. If you visit the official site, you will see there is a countdown as well, reflecting just how many days and time is remaining in the launch.
Once again, the details on the ear (1) are unknown. We only know it’s an audio product and probably truly wireless earbuds. However, looking at the invitation (tweet) sent to the known tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee, it appears the first product is rather over-the-ear headphones. Well, this is a mystery, though expect to hear more about it in the coming days as the said launch date is still a month away.
On the home page of its website, Nothing has added a timeline as well. It starts from October 2020, when Carl Pei announced his departure from OnePlus. In January 2021, the company announced its mission. In February, it announced Teenage Engineering as a founding partner of Nothing. In March, it revealed Concept 1, which it claims has guided the development of some of its first products.
The event will start at 2 PM BST/9 AM ET on July 27th. It should be noted that recently, Nothing specifically announced the launch of Nothing ear (1) in India will happen on the same day. So, Indian users will be able to live stream the event at 6:30 pm IST.
