OnePlus has also made official the Buds Pro alongside the much-hyped Nord 2 5G phone. This is the third set of truly wireless earbuds from the company and as the term “Pro” is pretty suggestive, the new set has some better features over the past two earbuds.
The main highlight is “smart adaptive noise cancellation.” This means earbuds are able to adjust the sound as per ambience. OnePlus explains that thanks to a three-mic setup in each earbud that actively “filters out noise levels of up to 40dB for a tailored listening experience,” and this ability gets activated by Extreme detection mode. The second is Faint mode that offers noise cancellation up to 25dB. There is also a transparency mode to let ambient noise in. Just pinch and hold the stem to turn on ANC.
OnePlus Buds Pro also supports Zen Mode Air that plays white noise audio to help you focus.
Design-wise, the OnePlus Buds Pro looks more like AirPods Pro, where the stem is small, but there are some differences, of course. The OnePlus Buds Pro follows a dual-tone finish, where the stem has a shiny chrome finish and the in-ear design features a matte finish.
The OnePlus Buds Pro are packed with 11mm dynamic drivers and supports Dolby Atmos audio.
Pairing happens over Bluetooth 5.2 and they charge via USB-C or wirelessly via any compatible Qi-charger. OnePlus is touting a 94ms latency level. The Buds Pro are also IP55 sweat and dust resistant.
Each earbud has a 40mAh battery and they can deliver up to 5 hours of playback with ANC and up to 7 hours without ANC. The 520mAh battery inside the case extends it up to 23 hours with ANC and up to 31 hours without ANC. Thanks to Warp Charge, 10 minutes of charging can offer you up to 10 hours of playback time.
OnePlus Buds Pro comes in Matte Black and Glossy White color options. They will go on sale in the US and Canada on September 1st for $149.99. Also, they will go on sale in Europe from August 25 for €150.
