The Galaxy Buds 2 brings a new design, which looks pretty inspired by the Galaxy Buds Pro. Samsung touts the earbuds feature its iconic curved shape design. They sport dual colors where the outer appearance is white, the encasing, as well as earbuds, get different colors – graphite, olive, and lavender. And, there is a pure white option as well. These are the lightest earbuds as well, with 5gms per bud, with the case adding just 41.2 grams more to the total weight.
The earbuds feature three microphones per bud that perform active noise cancellation and help in providing “impressive call quality.” The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 also arrive with a dynamic two-way speaker that is split into a woofer and a tweeter.
There is a dedicated VPU (Voice Pick-Up) filter that helps in filtering your voice so that the recipient could hear you clearly. As per Samsung claims, Active Noise Cancellation can block up to 98% of noise.
Samsung has also worked on Ambient modes so that you also hear your surroundings and know what’s going on around you. Using machine learning-based solutions, earphones adapt to external sounds like cars, wind, emergency vehicles. Furthermore, the earbuds support AKG-tuned audio as well for even better quality.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 also gets the IPX7 certification for splash and water resistance. For connectivity, Bluetooth v5.2 has been provided so as to pair with the phone. One can use an equalizer and other things using the app.
The Galaxy Buds 2 are claimed to deliver up to 29 hours of battery life, including the battery of the charging case, with the earbuds offering up to 7.5 hours of continuous playback on a single charge. However, when using ANC, the battery life will drop to 20 hours. The earbuds support Qi wireless charging and can offer one hour of listing with just five minutes of charging.
The price of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 is $149.99 (€149/£139). It is ready to be available for purchase in select markets from August 27.
