Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic get walkie-talkie app

31 August 2021 0

Before the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4-series smartwatches, it was rumored that these watches would get a walkie-talkie feature. But, perhaps, this didn’t happen, at least at the time of the announcement. Well, fast forward to today, the walkie-talkie app from Samsung is live and can be downloaded by the users from Google Play Store.

It should be noted that this app is exclusive to Samsung’s new Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic smartwatches. As the name of the app is pretty suggestive, this will let the users establish instant two-way communication just like a typical walkie-talkie.

The app requires a Samsung account to use. The app is on version 1.0.00.26 and it weighs 23MB only. The Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic users are required to connect the wearable to a smartphone when they first start using the app. Just pair the eligible smartwatch with the person you want to talk to and then just touch and hold the button when talking (as shown in the screenshots on the Play Store listing).

You can create different channels while connected with different users.

Samsung hasn’t yet revealed the range limit nor has the description of the app on the Play Store mentioned anything.

You can install the app directly from the Google Play Store.
