01 October 2021 0

Fairphone, a Dutch company that is majorly known for developing mobile devices by sourcing sustainable materials has now jumped into one more segment so to diversify its portfolio. The company has launched truly wireless stereo earphones

The company’s aim has always been to help people to use their phones longer. And, the new TWS has been developed on the same idea. These earphones are made from recycled materials and the company claims both the earbuds and the charging case are made with 30% recycled plastics. Fairphone further touts that as the world’s first, it has managed to integrate Fairtrade Gold, an internationally recognized marker of best-practice for workers’ rights and environmental protection.

Coming to the technical specifications, the earphones bring hybrid Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) over Bluetooth 5.3 with AD2P, HFP, and AVRP profiles. They are IPX4 splash resistant and have 10mm dynamic drivers with each bud housing two microphones.

Fairphone claims to pair and connect to the earbuds happen in a snap. Also, the earbuds support touch controls, so do a single tap to answer a call and double-tap to get back to your music. Simply press and hold to toggle Transparency mode when you are on the go.

Each earbud holds a 45mAh charge while the case adds another 500mAh. It has a USB Type-C port for charging as well. Fairphone, however, hasn’t mentioned the number of hours the earbuds are capable of offering. The company just says the earbuds are powered to last.

The new Fairphone TWS earbuds come in a single Black color option. In the box, a buyer gets three differently sized ear cups apart from the product. The charging cable is not included in the box because the company says this will help in cutting down the e-waste. The company also assumes that one can keep using the accessories they may already own. The USB-C to USB-C Cable 2.0 is sold separately for 19.95 euros ($23.10).

The cost of the Fairphone True Wireless Earbuds is 99.95 euros ($115). You can pre-order them now but the shipping will start on November 1st. They come with a 2-year warranty.
