Redmi's second-gen smartwatch Redmi Watch 2 has gone official in China. It was announced at the same event where we saw the unveiling of the Redmi Note 11 series. The new version has a bigger display and that with AMOLED panel. There are also more fitness modes and long-lasting battery life.
The Redmi Watch 2 sports a 1.6-inch AMOLED display with a square-shaped dial. The panel has a resolution of 320 x 360 pixels which makes it slightly sharper than the predecessor. There is Always-on Display support and an option to choose from 100 different watch faces. This is a benefit for those who love to personalize the look of the smartwatch.
The smartwatch features 117 different fitness modes including 17 "professional" workout modes. There is support for commonly seen health features like sleep monitoring, stress monitoring, heart rate monitor, a SpO2 sensor for measuring blood oxygen saturation. It has XiaoAI digital assistant support, 5ATM water resistance, and NFC connectivity. The battery capacity is unknown but is claimed to last for up to 12 days on a single charge.
Redmi has priced the Redmi Watch 2 at CNY 399 in China. It will be sold in Black, Blue, and Ivory color options for the dial and Olive, Brown, and Pink for the strap. It is already available in the country and should expand to global markets soon.
