Samsung has debuted the Galaxy Watch 4 Black Yak Edition in South Korea. It is a special edition of the smartwatch in collaboration with Black Yak, a South Korean fashion and apparel brand. It is the newest edition from Samsung and joins the likes of Thom Browne Edition, Bespoke Edition, and Maison Kitsune Edition.
The smartwatch itself is the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic (Bluetooth-only) model. The special edition is aimed at mountaineers and is claimed to support all of Black Yak's eco-friendly campaigns. The watch will be sold in 40mm and 44mm size options. It features a special watch face that turns Green from Red during lunchtime (between 12 PM and 1 PM). It is meant to serve as a reminder for users to clean disposable products used by them. The Black Yak branding on the watch face also changes to Green Yak during this window.
Additionally, the smartwatch comes loaded with mountaineering and hiking modes. It is also possible to track one's route using the in-built GPS. The special edition watch comes with a special retail packaging which is common for all limited edition devices. It includes an exclusive Black Yak strap, a Black Yak tumbler bag, and a 40% discount coupon on Black Yak products.
Samsung has priced the Galaxy Watch Black Yak Edition at KRW 279,000 (about $220) for the 40mm variant and KRW 309,000 (about $245) for the 44mm variant. The sale of the special smartwatch will begin on June 14th in South Korea.
