Fitbit's Sleep Profile will tell you what animal you sleep like

24 June 2022 1

Fitbit's sleep tracking through its fitness trackers is already one of the best, especially in terms of how it measures and presents all the insights. It is now taking the same to next level by introducing Sleep Profile. It is a new Fitbit Premium feature that will give you better insights into your sleeping habits.

A user's Sleep Profile is created after analyzing his sleep pattern through 10 different metrics. These include sleep schedule variability, the time before sound sleep and disrupted sleep, sleep duration, restfulness, and REM sleep. It shows you trends and compares them with other users of your age and gender. This is to give you an idea of where you need to improve.

The assessment will become available only if you wear a Fitbit fitness tracker for at least 14 nights per month. Once this criterion is met, all the detailed insights will be accessible through the companion app. One interesting bit of insight shared by the app is Sleep Animal. It simply shows the animal to which your sleeping patterns resemble the most.

There are six animal archetypes and one of these will be your Sleep Animal. These feature giraffe, bear, dolphin, hedgehog, parrot, and tortoise. Each animal type comes with a brief explanation about itself along with how does it relate to your sleeping pattern. Fitbit says this is a fun way of showing sleep insights to users.

Sleep Profile is rolling out to all Premium users with Sense, Versa 3, Versa 2, Charge 5, Luxe, and Inspire 2. It is a gradual release which means it may take some time before it becomes available for you.
