Apple has a Pro model across all its hardware product categories except for the Apple Watch. This is said to change this year with the launch of the commonly rumored rugged smartwatch variant. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg has now claimed in his weekly newsletter Power On's latest edition that it is the wearable model that will arrive as the Pro model.
Gurman says it is quite possible that the rugged smartwatch may go official as the Apple Watch Pro. The Cupertino-based tech giant is known for releasing Pro variants featuring high-end specifications and features. The rugged smartwatch is already rumored to feature features and specs that will be better than the standard variant. It is claimed to have the biggest display yet on an Apple Watch which will be 2-inch diagonally.
The display panel will be shatter-resistant this time around. It will feature swimming and hiking tracking improvements for more accurate results. There is said to be the use of strong metal material for better durability. It will also have long battery life that will help the smartwatch last longer.
He further claims that the Apple Watch Pro is expected to be $900 but may also go as high as $999. This is around the same price tag as an iPhone 13 Pro. We will have to wait and see if Apple actually decides to price the new rugged smartwatch variant at such a high price point.
