Apple's rumored special edition rugged smartwatch Apple Watch Pro is reported to bring a significant design overhaul. This is based on the new report shared by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. He has further shared details about the smartwatch that will distinguish it from many other options.
The Apple Watch Pro is said to have a significant redesign which will be the first since the last change in 2018. He says this change will be an evolution of the current rectangular shape, not a circular approach. The flat edges that we first heard about ahead of the Apple Watch Series 7 launch will not make an appearance this time either.
The upcoming Apple Watch rugged variant will have a bigger size than the standard version. The exact size is unknown but is claimed to be big enough that it will appeal only to a subset of customers. The display is expected to be 7% larger as compared to the standard variant. It will be made up of a "more durable formulation of titanium" that will make it rugged and sturdy.
There will also be longer battery life and body temperature sensors. It is claimed to last for multiple days on a single charge, thanks to a new low-power mode. The details about how this mode will work are currently unknown. A previous report claimed that the Apple Watch Pro could cost as much as $900.
